Come negli altri casi, anche qui vi sono numerose eccezioni, che si protraggono
lungo tutte le persone e che implicano un cambio sia nella radice che nelle
desinenze, secondo la seguente tabella:

Ad esempio, andar diviene anduve, anduviste, anduvo, anduvimos, anduvisteis, anduvieron.
Altri verbi che seguono queste regola sono estar (estuv- : estuve, estuviste,
estuvo...), haber (hub-), poder (pud-), tener (tuv-), hacer (hic-), saber
(sup-), venir (vin-), decir (dij-), querer (quis-), ecc.
